Micro Animations

Lately I've been adding what I call micro animations that feed liveliness into a scene, in particular spying with the telescope. I plan to introduce game-mechanics that allow you to impact or make decisions based on your 'spying'. The new video Micro Animations has a sprinkling of activity thrown on to the pier but none of it is supposed to actually mean anything right now. Character animation is it's own specialty and can be quite complex until you get the hang of it; just getting a simple poseable character is hard enough much less stitching together a sequence of short movements. I had to study walk-cycles for animators just so I could make a guy walk in circles. At some point I will be changing the animations to things that are in the context of the game and not so random. Right now the only interaction is hitting the 'g' key to open and close the pier gate at the far end of pier.
